A George II carved walnut corner chair
in the manner of Giles Grendey
The curved shell and acanthus carved toprail with out-scrolled arms with eagles head arm terminals, above vase shaped splats and a drop in needlework padded seat above a shell carved seatrail on cabriole shell carved legs with claw and ball feet, signed 'J.Turner, 1847' to the reverse of the left splat and indistinctly to the reverse of the right splat.
