A pair of Regency brass marquetry rosewood card tables in the manner of George Bullock
Profusely inlaid with scroll work, running foliage, flower-heads paterae and anthemion, the hinged rectangular tops with rounded front corners enclosing baize lined interiors, on shaped bead and reel moulded columns, on quadripartite bases with hipped oak leaf carved downswept legs with brass lion's paw cappings and castors, 91.5cm wide, 45.5cm deep, 75cm high (36" wide, 17.5" deep, 29.5" high).   • The large inlay panels to the frieze and top are based on designs by George Bullock and appear in variant on pieces attributed to him including a Regency brown oak and holly centre table supplied to Matthew Robinson Boulton and sold Christie's contents sale, 27-29 May 1987, lot 33. The design survives in the Bullock Wilkinson tracings in the Birmingham City Museums and Art Gallery (M.3.74).
