A late George III fustic and polychrome painted tester bed
attributed to Gillows
The gadroon moulded cornice with intertwined ivy leaf decoration above a beaded frieze and an oak leaf and acorn decorated running trellis motif and centred to the front by an en-grisaille panel of frolicking putti, on square section rear posts and carved acanthus reeded turned baluster posts to the front terminating in block supports, with a slatted base, the slats of later date, with an associated later headboard and later fixings for hangings, with an old inventory label to the cornice for Frederick Fish and Sons, Ipswich and inscribed in pen 'R.Cawley', 204cm wide, 250cm deep, 224cm high (80" wide, 98" deep, 88" high).
