A George III cream and parcel gilt pole screen
in the manner of Thomas Chippendale
The oval moulded and beaded glazed frame on an adjustable brass pole with a fluted and turned shaft on a circular loaded base carved with bellflower chains, riband tied bows and with a guilloche moulding, 146cm high, (57" high).

  • A polescreen of related form was supplied to William Constable by Thomas Chippendale circa 1778 for the salon at Burton Constable, East Yorkshire. The screen was supplied with a matching screen with sliding panels of pleated silk, screens of similar models were supplied together to Harewood, Yorkshire, circa 1770-1772.
