Each exterior decorated with four gilt shou characters beneath a bat and brightly enamelled in pink, blue, green and white on a yellow ground with stylised lotus blooms and leafy sprays, between a band of ruyi-heads at the rim and a row of lappets at the foot, all under a key-fret border on the neck.
