A woven silk rectangular hanging carpet depicting the Summer Palace

Finely woven in muted shades of blue, rust-orange, green and beige, the central panel showing a scene of the Summer Palace at Beijing including Longevity Hill behind a palace courtyard and the distinctive paddle steamer sailing across the Kunming Lake in the foreground, all surrounded by a border containing pairs of confronted stylised chilong bordered with key-fret and a wide band with groups of precious objects at the edges, the top border containing the characters Wan shou shan quan jing (A View of Longevity Hill). 307cm high x 242cm wide(120¾in high x 95¼in wide)
