An ivory lobed box and cover
18th/19th century
The eight-lobed box carved with rectangular panels each with a bat amid two cloud scrolls, the cover delicately reticulated with a bird perched on a spray of prunus and finger citron surrounded by bats in each of the lobes, the sides with each of the Eight Buddhist Symbols, bajixiang, within key-fret borders, the details all finely stained in red, blue and yellow, box. 6.9cm (2¾in) diam.
