A large silver-inlaid bronze figure of Guanyin
18th century, seal mark Yutang Shisou and Yuanhe ernian
The Goddess of Mercy cast standing looking serenely downwards to the left side, the forehead inlaid with a small silver urna beneath a twisted topknot containing a small ruyi head and looping over the elongated ear-lobes, the flowing robe falling from the shoulders and embellished with silver-wire cloud scrolls and classic scrolls at the edges, revealing the chest with silver-inlaid Buddhist jewellery and two bare feet beneath the hem, the back inlaid with a four-character inscription and all on a square pedestal with seal script characters. 47cm (18½in) high
