An archaistic pale green jade vase and cover, feng lei
19th century
Boldly and crisply carved as a flattened baluster vase, each of the two wider sides with a central animal mask in the upper decorative band above an archaic taotie mask in the lower band divided by flanges, each of the narrow sides with archaic scrolls beneath a simple rectangular-sectioned handle, the neck and foot also with taotie masks and the corners with rows of flanges, the cover similarly carved with taotie masks and flanges beneath a high stepped finial, box.
