A rare lacquered and inlaid wood two-case inro
19th century
Of circular form, the ground of reddish-brown nunobari-nuri, lacquered in high relief with a falcon on an elaborate perch in gold and coloured takamakie and tsuishu, the perch finial of inlaid horn and the reverse lacquered with a stick and hood for the bird with slight details in coloured glass, the sides of fundame and the interior of tamago kara-nuri (crushed eggshell lacquer), unsigned.
8.5cm (3⅜in) high.
