A rare lacquered-wood three-case inro

In the form of a section of bamboo of flattened oval section, carved with four nodes and lacquered on the top with a snail crawling beside a bamboo stem and foliage in gold takamakie, the interior of dark red lacquer, signed for the lacquer Kosai byokin and inscribed Kaiyo no ju with kao; with a small copper and shakudo ojime with inlaid plum blossoms, unsigned. 7.9cm (3⅛in) high.
