A lacquer four-case inro
Early 18th century
Decorated in gold and iro-e takamakie with two shaped panels enclosing a bust portrait of Daruma, one side with Daruma enveloped in a red robe, embellished with stylised cloud designs enhanced with gold kirikane details, the figure on the reverse clad in a floral-patterned kimono and holding a hossu, all reserved on a sparse nashiji ground, the interior of red lacquer and nashiji, unsigned; with ivory netsuke in the form of a Daruma doll, unsigned. 7.5cm (2 7/8in) high.
