A Satsuma tall square cylindrical vase

Finely painted in enamels and gilt, each face decorated with a different scene variously depicting Jurojin accompanied by a stag and a karako, a family of hens foraging for food at sunrise, a pheasant perched on a rocky ledge and the beautiful Chinese maiden Yang Guifei (Japanese: Yokihi) admiring a sprig of peony, reserved on a ground of assorted mon scattered among karakusa; signed Dainippon Kyoto Kinkozan.
