Three Satsuma vessels

All painted in enamels and gilt, comprising an incense burner and reticulated cover, the cylindrical body decorated with lobed panels enclosing figural designs including attendants carrying a kago, ladies teaching boys within an interior, separated by smaller panels of tea ceremony wares and ikebana arrangments, signed Kozan, 9cm (3½in) high; the second a small hexagonal vase painted with overlapping panels of warriors and families enjoying an outing at a lake shore, signed Satsuma yaki, 10.2cm (4in) high; the third a miniature teapot and cover decorated with a multitude of butterflies flitting above Spring flowers of irises and azalea, signed with partially-effaced seal, 4cm (1½in) high.
