An ivory three-case inro
Early 19th century
Bearing an ishime ground, carved in relief with a dragon amid turbulent waves and another flying among swirling clouds above, while a flock of birds fly on either side, the cord runners are carved with a formal design tinted red, and the interior risers are gold-lacquered, unsigned; with plain ivory ojime; and a two-part ivory manju of rounded square form, carved and partly pierced with a dragon among clouds, signed Masakazu with kao.
