A fold-out album with six shikishiban paintings in ink, colour on gold-leaf paper ground, mounted onto gold sprinkled paper, the left depicting scenes from Mutamagawa ('The Six Crystal Rivers'), adjacent to the corresponding poem written in sosho script on the right, comprising:

1) Noji in Omi province (present day Shiga), depicting its famous hagi (Japanese bush clover) beside a stream on a moonlit evening
2) Ide in Yamashiro province (present day Kyoto), depicting a courtier on horseback being led across the river by attendants
3) Chofu in Musashi (present day Tokyo), depicting two women bleaching cloth
4) Noda in Rikuzen (present day Miyagi), depicting chidori (plover) in flight
5) Mishima in Settsu (present day Osaka), showing women beating cloth
6) Koya in Kii province (present day Wakayama), depicting a waterfall descending down mountainous landscape

all unsigned; with wood storage box. Each approx. 23.5cm x 21.4cm (9¼in x 8¼in). (2).
