A carved wood three-case inro
19th century
Carved all over with a three-clawed dragon clutching a tama, emerging from turbulent water and swirling clouds, the foam on the waves inlaid in pale horn studs, the dragon inlaid in aogai with slight-red lacquer details, its tail shown on the reverse, unsigned; with a wood manju netsuke, carved in relief with a butterfly and kiku on a formal ground, signed Shinzan. 8.9cm (3½in) high.
