A gold lacquer four-case inro

The kinji ground lacquered in gold, silver and iro-e togidashi with three Dutchmen, one side depicting one Dutchman wearing a tricorn hat and holding a long pipe, standing beside a low four-legged, European table covered with a red table cloth on which rests a vase of flowers, above him is a parrot on a perch, the reverse with two Dutchmen, one seated on a tiger-skin covered chair, gripping a walking stick, his companion standing next to him with a telescope, a puppy at their feet, with discreet details inlaid in e-nashiji and aogai; the interior of rich nashiji, signed Koma Kyuhaku saku, with silvered-metal tubular ojime, carved in silver and gilt takazogan with a floral spray, signed Seiryuken and ivory netsuke of a Dutchman holding his single-plumed hat over his shoulder, unsigned. 9.7cm (3¾in).
