Both sides inset with a shaped roiro cartouche, depicting on one side a large shishi recumbent on a cliff, facing its adversary as it emerges from stormy clouds, shown on the other, all lacquered in gold takamakie and kirikane, the dragon inlaid in gold and the shishi of shibuichi takazogan, bordered by carved formalised flower heads on a tsuishu-lacquer ground, the interior of fundame, unsigned; with a glass bead ojime and tsuishu-lacquer netsuke in the form of a low table, carved on the top with a Chinese figure fishing, unsigned. 6.8cm (2 5/8in).
