Standing on a river bank, his eyes cast towards the water, one hand resting upon a wave-lashed wood stump and the other holding a bamboo cane, a pipe within a case, tobacco pouch and manju netsuke suspended from his belt on the reverse, signed in a rectangular reserve Shinko/Chikataka. 24.2cm (9½in) high.
