Both standing elegantly attired in a formal long-sleeved kimono, with their coiffure elaborately styled; the first supporting her young son over one shoulder, 19.5cm (7 5/8in) high; the second carrying a pair of scissors in one hand and a stalk of lily in the other, with a fan attached to a tasselled chord dangling from her left sleeve, 18cm (7 1/8in) high; both figures with signature tablets missing.
