A Tokyo School ivory figural group

Comprising an old man playing with his grandson at New Year, the former standing in waraji with one hand lifting the excited boy up onto his shoulder, the other holding the tasselled rope attached to a kite that dangles from his left hand, his grandson clutching an itomaki (silk-winder), a pouch and the child's straw sandals are suspended from the belt tied around the old man's waist, signed Hokei.
