Mid Edo Period, 18th-19th century
An eight-plate suji kabuto mounted with a six-stage mixed-metal tehen kanamono, on the front a giltwood shishi maedate, iron itamono Hineno jikoro attached to the hachi with mon-headed rivets, the small fukigaeshi pierced with the kiri mon in silhouette, a brief hambo with a four-lame yodarekake, ko sode in iron with a ring to the rear and ikada gote, the do of iron horizontal plates well mounted with kiri mon headed rivets and a saihai no kan on the front and an agamaki no kan on the back, kusazuri of iron with a pocket under the front tasset, leather karuta gane haidate with the kiri mon in gold lacquer on each shino suneate, the top edges of all the solid plates shaped in the style called tsure yamamichi, black lacquered overall and laced in dark blue kebiki odoshi, well mounted with white metal kanamono either silver or shibuichi; with an armour box and wood stand. Armour box 48cm x 38.2cm x 38cm (17 7/8in x 15 1/8in x 15in).
