Two Somada-style black lacquer inro

The first of two cases, of wide form, bearing a roiro ground, delicately inlaid in aogai and slight-gold foil with two landscapes illustrating the Omi Hakkei (The Eight Views of Lake Biwa), the cord runners with formal floral designs and the divided interior of black lacquer, unsigned, 8cm (3⅛in) wide; the second of four cases, similarly decorated with six galloping horses among rolling hills, unsigned, 7cm (2¾in); with a kagamibuta-netsuke, the wood bowl and plate with an inlaid mother-of-pearl peony and glass bead ojime.
