Each of four cases and bearing a roiro ground, the first lacquered in gold and coloured togidashi with Narihira on horseback, admiring Mount Fuji, accompanied by an attendant, unsigned, 7.9cm (3⅛in); with metal filigree ojime and an umimatsu netsuke, lacquered with a crab; the second decorated in togidashi and gold hiramakie with five horses resting and grazing among young pines, unsigned, 7.8cm (3in); the third lacquered with an actor in the role of Okina on a stage, in gold and slight-coloured takamakie, unsigned, 6.3cm (2½in); with an ebony netsuke in the form of an abumi (stirrup), unsigned.
