Two early black lacquer inro
The second by Bunzan, both 17th century
The first of four cases, lacquered and inlaid with farm workers trudging home, carrying bundles of brushwood on their heads, in gold and slight-coloured takamakie and inlaid aogai, the interior of black lacquer, unsigned, 6.4cm (2½in), with coral ojime; the second of two cases, unusually decorated on one side with several horses and on the other with a flock of cranes and the inscription Kyuko in gold and coloured takamakie, signed Bunzan with kao, 5.6cm (2¼in).
