Two wood netsuke
The first by Hojitsu and and the second by Minkosai, 19th century
The first a boy enveloped in the cloak of a shishimai mask, the shishi-head with open mouth resting at his side, the wood slightly-worn and the eyes inlaid, signed Hojitsu, 4.2cm (1 5/8in); the second 'the clam's dream', the shell open to reveal a scene of figures in the precincts of a castle, signed Minkosai, 5.1cm (2in).
