Two unusual lacquer inro
18th century
The first of black lacquer, a single case of cylindrical form, decorated with a continuous karakusa design in silver and brass wire, the interior of black lacquer, unsigned, 10.1cm (4in); with bone ojime; the second a two-case inro of umimatsu, lacquered with wild flowers, partly inlaid in raden, unsigned, 7.9cm (3 1/8in); with shell-shaped ojime.
