After a Hellenistic original, probably a goddess, her head inclined to her left, the hair centrally-parted and tied in loose waves at the base of her neck, her mouth slightly open with the teeth showing, 7¾in (19.5cm) high, mounted

    Cecil Erskine (1912–2006) was Professor of Anatomy at Trinity College, Dublin from 1947 to 1984. He had lifelong interests in art and photography and was an avid collector of modern sculpture and paintings, Asian Art, and Antiquities.
