Arabic manuscript on thin cream-coloured paper, 18 leaves, 11 lines to the page, the first, sixth and eleventh lines written in bold muhaqqaq script in gold, remainder of text on each page written in smaller naskhi script in black ink with diacritics and vowel points in black, intercolumnar and interlinear rules in gold, gold circular devices decorated with blue and red dots between verses, illuminated circular devices in outer margins, sura headings written in muhaqqaq script in gold within rectangular panels decorated with pink hatching and stylised vegetal motifs in blue, folios 1a-2b with a richly decorated frontispiece in gold, blue and red, dampstaining, creased, skilfully repaired, modern green morocco retaining the older black morocco covers, slightly worn, with flap, green cloth slipcase
