of rectangular form with hinged lid, decorated in repoussé with a central cartouche depicting subjects presenting offerings to a king beneath a flying angel, surrounded by a band of mounted lacquer playing cards depicting soldiers and portraits of Nasir al-Din Shah on a ground of repoussé silver floral sprays with perching birds, the edges with further mounted playing cards depicting a mother and child, dancing ladies and quadrupeds in combat, the borders with repoussé scrolling floral vines
