Inscribed Lacote a Paris on the flat head; labelled Lacote, Luthier, a Paris, anno 1827, No. 5 Place des Victoirea, Length of back 436mm (17 3/16in) the ebony fingerboard and table with bold silver frets, some missing, the spruce table with marginal and soundhole multi strand black and white purfling inlay decoration, with six pin moustachio bridge, the back and ribs of boldly figured maple, use wear and restorations.
