A late 19th century Louis XVI style gilt bronze and porcelain bouillotte lamp
by Boin-Taburet, Paris
the adjustable tôle shade decorated with floral swags, the Imari vase surmounted by three candle arms, mounted on three pairs of hoof feet with a Japanese lacquer galleried tray base decorated with a dolphin, the underside stamped 'BOIN TABURET/ A PARIS' above the embossed initials 'G B', the underside also retaining a paper label 'Collection BOIN-TABURET together with the ink manuscript inscription 'Pre Ming', 34cm wide, 76cm high (13" wide, 29.5" high).

Footnotes

  • The company of Boin-Taburet were established by George Boin and Emile Taburet in 1873 based at 3 Rue Pasquier, Paris. The company is accredited with the revival of the Louis XV and Louis XVI styles. They won a Gold medal with their work at the 1889 'Exposition Universelle' in Paris.
