Two 17th century Malines carved alabaster and parcel gilt reliefs
the first depicting Christ on the Cold Stone, with the soldiers binding his wrists and applying the crown of thorns, with traces of original gilt and painted decoration, in a giltwood and tortoiseshell mounted frame, the reverse inscribed in French Sculpture en miniature...., the second relief depicting the Virgin and Child in an apple orchard, with an angel standing on a ladder to pick apples, with much original gilt and painted decoration remaining, in a giltwood and tortoiseshell frame, the reverse inscribed (now illegible), the panels 12.5cm x 9.5cm (4.5" x 3.5") and 12cm x 9.5cm (4.5" x 3.5"), overall 22.5cm x 19.5cm and 22cm x 19.5cm wide (2)
