  • Hippolyte François Moreau (1832-1927) born in Dijon. He moved to Paris to learn from such sculptors as François Jouffroy. Moreau produced fine examples of bronze sculpture often characterised by the romantic style and notion of innocence and beauty. He produced many works in the female form and he is noted as a holder of two medals for the world fairs held in 1877 and 1900.
