A Victorian silver presentation flower vase and stand
By Robinson, Edkins & Aston, Birmingham 1844
The large tulip-shaped bowl of flared panelled form with pierced and stippled scrolls with over-hanging border applied with entwined scroll and fruiting vine tendrils resting on a trumpet stem with cast vine tendrils to centre and domed base, foot also having three scroll-edge cartouches, each engraved with a crest, the stand with similar decoration set with a plaque by another maker, J D, possibly by John Dudley, London 1844, this is engraved with a coat of arms and extensive Latin inscription, height of vase 33.7cm, weight 69oz.
