A pair of George III silver caddies contained in a shagreen case

Shaped-square section with serpentine sides, one with shoulders and small opening top, the other with larger cover for sugar, both embellished with floral chasing and rose finials, the bodies chased with floral swags, one side with floral cartouche and oval reserve engraved with a crest, raised on four applied floral feet to each corner, the shagreen caddy box with unmarked silver mounts, the upswept cover with foliate-scroll drop-handle and reeded rim mount, the base with 'cut-card' corner reinforcers pierced oval escutcheon, red silk and velvet lined interior with later hinges, height of caddies 14.5cm, length of box 21cm, weight of silver 22.5oz.
