Footnotes

  • The lion monopodiae supports are influenced by etchings published in C.H.Tatham's Etchings of Ornamental Architecture Drawn from the Originals in Rome and in other parts of Italy during the years 1794, 1795 and 1796, (1799).

Tatham's etchings provided the basis to many of the designs published in George Smith's, A Collection of Designs for Household Furniture and Interior Decoration, (1808) and Thomas Hope's, Household Furniture and Interior Decoration, (1807).
