    The authenticity of this work has kindly been confirmed by Madame Sylvie Buisson.

    This portrait is believed to be of Alice Ernestine Prin, the renowned model who was often known as Kiki de Montparnasse. A painter in her own right and a dancer in the music halls, she posed for dozens of artists and became a symbol of bohemian life in Paris.
