BROWNE, HABLOT KNIGHT ("PHIZ"). 1815-1882.
Autograph Note Signed three times ("Hablot K. Browne," "Hablot K. Browne" and "PHIZ"), apparently the final page of a letter, 1 p, 4to, n.p., n.d., to his father, laid down, irregular margins.

A fragment signed three times by Browne for an acquaintance of his father: "My love to Katie if you see her – and so good morning, for I am in a hurry – and here is a shake of the 'hand' for you. Your extremely dutiful son ... My compliments to Mrs. Squib and I think the topmost specimen of my 'fist' will best please a lady's eye, being written in a fine Italian hand – 'with a neat little crowquill, slight and new.'" Browne refers to three different signatures he provided for Mrs. Squib.
