2 hand-colored engraved celestial maps, 590 x 495 mm (plate size), each depicting hemispheres (one per map) centered on equatorial poles using a polar equidistant projection and geocentric orientation, tables on either side listing the names of constellations and the magnitudes and coordinates of stars within, hemispheres flanked by putti hoisting astronomical instruments, vertical crease to center of both maps, a few minor wrinkles, one small repair and one tiny chip to blank margins.
Both maps were among a number of collaborations between Dopplemayr and Homann gathered for inclusion in Atlas Novus Coelestis in quo Mundus Spectabilis..., published by Homann's heirs in 1742. Kanas Star Maps 7.8.3.
