Later full limp vellum, covers centered with gilt olive branch wreath. Wanting 18 leaves (9 double-page engravings), most leaves on later guards, light dampstain to final several leaves, early ownership inscription to title, front free flyleaf detached, text block partially separated from binding, some cockling and stray marks to binding, sold with all faults.
This chronicle of the events leading to and the early decades of the Eighty Years' War included the first depiction of the Leo Belgicus, the cartographic rendition of the Dutch Lion.
