Illuminated Latin manuscript on vellum, being prayers for the Office of the Dead. [Italy, late 15th century.] 90 leaves, 13 lines per page, brown ink, written space 86 x 67 mm, 1- and 2-line initials in alternating red and blue. Incipit page with 4-line polychrome initial inhabited by the Virgin and Child and floral border in gold and colors, the bottom edge with two angels supporting a crest. 19th century full calf binding stamped in blind-ruled, stamped in blind and gilt in antique style with skull motif. Upper joints started, lower endpaper creased, occasional rubbing.
