A fine collection of programs from the legendary Russian émigré variety show directed by Nikita Balieff. He called his company "chauve-souris" (French for "bat") when one landed on his hat. He formed his comedy troupe on leaving Konstantin Stanislavsky's Moscow Art Theater. "Chauve-Souris" relocated in Paris during the Russian Revolution and toured successfully through Europe and the United States.
