A yellow ground kesi-woven silk throne seat cover
19th century
Of rectangular format with rounded corners organized as a central panel centered with a lotus flower and leaf pattern combined with bats and surrounded by further blossoms, leaves, bats and chevrons outlined in wrapped gilt threads with painted details on the polychrome threads defining the flower heads, bat wings and other motifs in the decoration, the various motifs then forming a wide border separated from the central panel by a band of couched gilt-wrapped threads.
