A group of Horton Foote scripts
Revised first draft script, 115 loose pages, dated July 27, 1984 and titled Governor's Lady. This is the master typescript of this un-filmed and unpublished work by Foote. Together with a script for Foote's play Travelling Lady dated January 1954, prepared by the American Stenographic Service with multiple stamps reading "Dupl. NYPL." Foote based his screenplay for the 1965 film, Baby, The Rain Must Fall, on this play. Also included, an undated copy of Foote's first play in his series The Roads to Home titled Nightingale. The script features extensive character blocking notations in pencil throughout.
