An 8x57 Merkel Model 221-E boxlock over/under double rifle
Serial no. 277056, 8x57mm. 25 1/2 inch blued barrels with ramp fore-sight and open rear. Blued finish. Karl Hahles Helia S 1.5-6x42 telescopic sight. Scalloped boxlock action engraved with scrollwork and deep relief games scenes: left side, two elk; right side, three boars. Kersten crossbolts. Automatic safety. Double triggers. Blued and engraved triggerguard and lever. Checkered fore-end and pistolgrip stock of dark, partly figured walnut. Pachmayr brown rubber buttpad. Sling swivels.
Condition: Excellent and showing little use. Stock with series of small dents to comb.
