A California percussion target rifle by Adolph Koppikus
Sacramento, 3rd quarter, 19th century
Heavy 31 1/2 inch octagonal barrel (diameter 1 1/2") in .40 caliber; rebated muzzle retaining false muzzle and brass starter; hooded front sight; tang-mounted peep sight; top flat signed Koppikus/Sacramento, Cal.. Unmarked lock. Double-set triggers. Scrolling iron triggerguard retaining the removable hand rest. Walnut half-stock.
Condition: Good to very good. Metal showing dark patina with scattered patches of pitting overall. Ramrod missing. Revarnished wood with scattered marks.
