A U.S. Model 1881 officer's dress helmet
Black fabric-covered cork helmet piped in black leather; gilt fittings including cavalry frontplate (without numeral), cavalry side buttons (without chinscale hooks), oak leaf spike base with fluted spike. Tan leather sweatband.
Condition: Very good. A composite piece, leather piping showing some scuffing, fittings retain most gilt finish except for top spike.
