A German silver-mounted non-regulation foot officer's sword
Slightly curved 32 inch blade with 11 inch panel etched with scrollwork and panoplies, one side with US, the other with spread eagle. Ricasso marked Solingen with arrow/oval maker's mark. German silver hilt of British form with folding inner guard, quillon finial molded with star and with oval panel in guard molded with Federal eagle. Below the eagle a blank panel where US has been removed. Shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. German silver two-ring scabbard with iron drag.
Condition: Blade has been cleaned at one time and shows areas of very light pitting and some light wear to decoration. Hilt fine. Scabbard with a few light dents.
